Nights of the Living Dead: The Original Misfits Set 3 Shows
Glenn Danzig and Jerry Only will play three shows this summer as The Original Misfits, including a homecoming show for the horror punk icons featuring fellow New Jerseyites The Gaslight Anthem and Fear.
In addition to Danzig, the founding frontman, and Only, the long-time bassist, this particular version of the Misfits will also feature long-time lead guitarist Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein,
The limited run begins June 24 at Tampa’s MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre at the Florida State Fairgrounds. That’s followed by the aforementioned homecoming show at Newark’s Prudential Center July 8. The three-stopper concludes July 15 at Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre in Phoenix.
The Tampa and Florida shows are the first by The Original Misfits line-up in the present incarnation. The Danzig/Only/Frankenstein version of the band came together in 2016; highlights include a sold-out Madison Square Garden show with The Damned and Rancid in 2019 that grossed $1,821,935 on 12,942 tickets, according to Boxoffice reports. Danzig said — prematurely it seems — that concert would be the band’s last caress, as they played Philadelphia two months later and featured at Chicago’s Riot Fest in 2021 and 2022.
