Fatboy Slim joins the leagues of artists headed to the metaverse with his virtual reality concert in ENGAGE XR. The show saw Norman Cook, best known for his Fatboy Slim alias, playing his biggest hits for fans across the world.

The free, immersive concert, titled “Eat, Sleep, VR, Repeat,” featured a 45-minute set in a virtual space that included Fatboy Slim’s music, visual effects and animations. The setlist included “Rockafeller Skank,” “Praise You,” “Weapon of Choice” and more.

“While there have been music performances in the metaverse before, the Fatboy Slim concert took things to the next level with many different areas to explore, visuals and audio that enhanced attendees’ senses making the virtual event an almost hypnotic experience,” David Whelan, CEO and co-founder of ENGAGE XR, said in a statement. “Norman wanted to make sure his fans were treated to the VR event of the year and he didn’t disappoint.”

The concert took place across six different time slots to ensure all fans, no matter the time zone, could experience the show. The full concert will also be available for download at a later date.

“The Fatboy Slim concert demonstrates the versatility and capabilities of VR and how corporations to creatives can build their own worlds within ENGAGE to be used for entertainment, business engagements and so much more.”
