Anjelah Johnson-Reyes Debuts New Comedy Special
Comedian, actress, and author Anjelah Johnson-Reyes, will debut her sixth comedy special, “Anjelah Johnson-Reyes: Say I Won’t,” on YouTube on May 14.
Deciding to have the premiere of her new special on YouTube is a full circle moment for Johnson-Reyes, whose comedy career was ignited after her “Nail Salon” stand up bit went viral on the platform.
The video has been viewed more than two-hundred million times. Her new special, “Say I Won’t,” will be an hour of comedy easily accessible for all fans worldwide.
Anjelah Johnson-Reyes financed, and produced the special herself, and therefore also owns it fully. “Say I Won’t” was shot at the iconic Ryman Auditorium in her new home of Nashville, TN, as part of her recent 100-plus-show sold-out theatre tour.

The special performances at the Ryman sold 3,800 tickets, and grossed $156,194, according to Pollstar’s boxoffice. Other highlights from that tour include the Ovens Auditorium show in Charlotte, NC, where Johnson-Reyes sold 2,324 tickets for a $134,293 gross, and the Oct. 14 performance at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, GA, where she grossed $127,346 with 2,459 tickets sold.
Johnson-Reyes year 2023 also kicked off successfully, selling 4,980 tickets for her Jan. 14 show at San Jose Civic in San Jose, CA, grossing $251,512. In February, she masterfully conducted the 2023 Pollstar Awards in LA.
She also sold out The Wiltern in LA four times, selling over 8,000 tickets. In Texas she sold over 25,000 tickets across Houston, Austin, Dallas, Lubbock, San Antonio, and El Paso.
Her new special, like all of her work, revolves around her life, which most recently saw her move from California to Nashville.
“Say I Won’t” was directed by Manny Rodriquez, and is a co-production between Johnson-Reyes’ production company Laugh on Beat Productions, and comedy production powerhouses 800 Pound Gorilla and Triage Entertainment.
Executive Producers include Anjelah Johnson-Reyes, Manwell Reyes, Judi Marmel, Stephen Gordon Walker, and John Bravakis. Johnson-Reyes is represented by UTA and Levity Talent.
