“A2IM’s Libera Awards 2023 is a must-attend event for all music lovers,” Dr. Richard James Burgess, MBE, President and CEO of A2IM, said in a statement. “Celebrate the incredible diversity of the independent music community at the historic Town Hall in New York City, with a huge after-party and dinner celebration at the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square. Enjoy a night of fun, friends and music with our host, multi-hyphenate Hannibal Buress. Two Independent Icon awards will be presented: one to Martha Reeves who will be performing and celebrating 60 years of ‘Heat Wave’ and the other to the inimitable Marshall Allen and the Sun Ra Arkestra at this unforgettable evening.”

The ceremony awards the work of independent artists, recognizing outstanding achievements and accomplishments across all music genres with 37 categories.

“I haven’t hosted anything in a while, so this will be an interesting night,” Hannibal Buress said in a statement. “I’m not sure if I’m crossing WGA picket lines by doing this gig. If I am, my apologies. I stand with the writers, but I also got some shit to do. I’m wearing steel toe boots just in case anyone wants to run onstage unexpectedly.”

Ticketholders can attend the official afterparty and dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe. Prior to the awards ceremony, A2IM’s Indie Week conference will begin June 12 to June 15 at the InterContinental New York Times Square.
