The partnership between Cuffe And Taylor and The Piece Hall in Yorkshire, England, exemplifies the effect it can have to bring an experience team of promoters into your events business.

The Halifax venue smashed the 100,000-tickets mark for the first time in its long and colorful history this year, thanks to 21 nights of live music throughout June, July, and August, including shows from the likes of Sting, Queens Of The Stone Age, Madness, Rag’n’Bone Man, Hozier, boygenius, Orbital, and James.

Cuffe And Taylor struck a deal with The Piece Hall trust at the beginning of last year, and immediately set a sales record with 60,000-plus tickets sold in 2022, when the lineup included Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Paul Weller, Paloma Faith, Tom Jones, Primal Scream, and others.

Noel Gallagher, who performed at The Piece Hall last year, spoke of “an epic venue and crowd.”

“To now top 100,000 sales – even before our first show with Madness on June 16 – just shows what a truly special venue this is,” said Peter Taylor, co-founder of Cuffe and Taylor, which has been a part of Live Nation since 2017.

And he added, “The music industry has certainly sat up and took notice and huge stars – from across many diverse genres from pop to rock to legendary dance acts – want to come and play here. Together with The Piece Hall Trust, we will continue to strive to bring the biggest names in music to Yorkshire and this incredible venue.”

Many of the shows at the iconic 5,500-capacity outdoor venue sold out fast, tickets for George Ezra’s July 6 gig, for instance, got snatched up within minutes, according to a press release from the promoters.

Nicky Chance-Thompson, CEO of The Piece Hall Charitable Trust, spoke of a “phenomenal milestone,” that has been reached. “Our strong partnership with Cuffe and Taylor means we are able to bring world class artists to our iconic venue, and these sales prove just how big the appetite is for quality live music at The Piece Hall.”

She also spoke about the multi-million-dollar boost for the local economy these concerts contribute to. “This is a huge deal for Halifax and Calderdale in terms of the visitor economy, investment into the area and creating a powerful feeling of pride in place,” said Chance-Thompson, “I want to say a big thank you to the team at Cuffe and Taylor for sharing our vision and thanks to every single person who has bought a ticket so far, we can’t wait for you to join us for our biggest and most diverse season of live music yet!”

The Piece Hall is a unique architectural and cultural wonder. Grade I listed, it originally opened in 1779 for the trading of pieces of cloth – hence the name – produced by Yorkshire’s famous woolen mills. It remains the only remaining Georgian cloth hall in the world.

Since reopening in 2017, The Piece Hall has welcomed more than 10.5 million visitors through its historic gates by its own admission.
