This is a good week for Mark McGrath. Not only is he confirmed to hit the road with the “I Love The ‘90s Tour,” but Sugar Ray has announced a co-headlining summer tour with Gin Blossoms. The alternative rock bands will be joined by special guests Tonic and Fastball.

“I can’t think of anything better than spending the summer with great friends playing music! This tour is a giant cavalcade of hits that just keeps delivering, and I’m always honored to share a stage with Gin Blossoms, Tonic and Fastball,” McGrath said in a statement.

Sugar Ray’s guitarist and co-founder Rodney Sheppard adds, “I am most looking forward to this tour because all of these bands have a history and a friendship. I can’t wait for the backstage acoustic guitar sing-alongs.”

The co-headline tour starts Aug. 31 with a show in La Crosse, Wisconsin, at Copeland Park. Stops include Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Beaver Dam, Kentucky; Kettering, Ohio; Niagara Falls, Ontario; Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and Frederick, Maryland.

Ticket onsales begin on Friday, May 12 at 10:00 a.m. local time. Kettering goes on sale May 13 and Frederick’s onsale is June 30.

Sugar Ray has an average of 2,448 tickets sold and $52,670 grossed per show, according to box office reports submitted to Pollstar dating back to 1999.

Sugar Ray’s singles include “Fly,” “Someday,” “Falls Apart,”“Every Morning” and “When It’s Over.” The band released its seventh studio album, Little Yachty, in 2019.

Gin Blossoms has submitted 162 headline reports and 46 support reports since 2002 with an average of 1,491 tickets sold and an average gross of $27,841 per show.

Gin Blossoms’ hits include “Hey Jealousy,” “Allison Road,” “Until I Fall Away,” “As Long as It Matters” and “Follow You Down.” The band’s most recent release is 2018’s Mixed Reality.

In honor of the co-headline tour, the bands sent in a bunch of quotes:

“I’m so excited to tour with Sugar Ray, Tonic and Fastball,” Robin Wilson of Gin Blossoms said. “They’re some of my favorite bands to be on the road with. We’re looking forward to doing some rock’n’roll shows.”

Emerson Hart of Tonic adds: “We are so excited to get back out there this summer and play rock and roll with our friends Gin Blossoms, Sugar Ray and Fastball. That’s a lot of great music in one night!”
