Sting & Shaggy Team Up For ‘One Fine Day’ Festival
Sting and Shaggy have unveiled their collaborative festival, One Fine Day, which takes place at The Mann Center in Fairmount Park in Philadelphia on Sept. 9. The festival features two stages with Sting and Shaggy joining as headliners, including a joint set.
Thundercat, Koffee, Tank & The Bangas, G. Love & Special Sauce, Kes, Flor de Toloache and Giordana Angi all join Sting and Shaggy for the one-day event.
“I love how Shaggy and I effortlessly push each other to the creative edges,” Sting said in a statement. “After having made the 44/876 album together and recording an album of Frank Sinatra covers in a reggae style, a day of hits and musical ventures in one of our favorite cities seemed like the next illogical step!”
Together, Sting and Shaggy will perform some of their biggest hits including “Message In A Bottle,” “Every Breath You Take,” “It Wasn’t Me,” “Boombastic” and more. The performance in September will be the two’s only show together. Both Sting and Shaggy are managed by Martin Kierszenbaum, CEO of Cherrytree Music Company.
“Sting is a catalyst for musical curiosity,” Shaggy said in a statement. “When we collaborate, we combine our music tastes, individual cultures and a sense of wonder. We wanted to invite some of our favorite musicians to gather in real time and share that very vibe at ‘One Fine Day.'”
Sting has been out on the road in recent months with support from Joe Sumner, selling out two nights at Hard Rock Live Sacramento on April 12 and 13, grossing a total of $843,011, according to boxoffice reports submitted to Pollstar.
Presale tickets for the show go on sale May 16 at 10 a.m. ET until May 18 at 10 p.m. ET. General onsale begins May 19 at 10 a.m. ET via Ticketmaster.
