APA Names New Partners, Including Music Agent Alex Chaykin
APA has named music agent Alex Chaykin and production department agent Brady Torgeson partners, CEO Jim Gosnell and President Jim Osborne announced today (May 26).
Chaykin, a veteran of more than a decade with the full-service agency, specializes in crossing music artists over into other areas including touring, TV, film, non-scripted and endorsements.
He set Tyga in a new residency at the Wynn Las Vegas for 2023, put his client En Vogue out on more than 50 arena dates with New Kids on the Block in 2022, and is following that up with 21-date shed tour this summer starting in June. Chaykin also helped land En Vogue appearances on Fox TV’s “Masked Singer” and ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars.”
Client CeeLo Green has been cast on numerous non-scripted reality shows, Disney voiceover animated project “Proud Family” and launched his James Brown Tribute concert at New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival last year.
Chaykin has also guided the career of electronic dance artist Nora En Pure since her inception in the states and seen her rise to becoming one of the largest female electronic acts globally. Other clients include Tyrese, Paul Oakenfold, Sean Kingston, Eric Benet, Fat Joe and more.
“Alex has not only been an exceptional agent for his clients, but he is extremely collaborative, a team player, a leader within the Music department and a mentor to younger agents at APA, checking off all the box’s we look for in a partner, which makes his promotion so richly deserved,” said Gosnell and Osborne in a statement.
“APA has provided me an amazing opportunity over the last decade to grow my clients business’s across a number of platforms and it has been great doing this alongside my fabulous colleagues. Jim Gosnell and Jim Osborne have done an amazing job steering the ship into the next phase for APA and I am extremely excited about what’s to come,” Chaykin added.
