Christine And The Queens Return To North America In Fall, Adding To World Tour
French singer-songwriter Christine and the Queens is returning to North American with the announcement of a limited, six-city trek in support of his forthcoming album, Paranoïa, Angels, True Love (Because Music).
The U.S. dates kick off Oct. 17 in Philadelphia at the Fillmore and wraps Oct. 26 in Chicago, with tickets going on sale to the public Friday, June 2 at 10 a.m. ET at the Christine and the Queens website.
With music that straddles art, theater, pop and experimental music and beyond, Chris has broken barriers in the music world by fusing those forms into pop-opera performances that have been on full display at Coachella Valley Music & Arts, an acclaimed appearance at Webster Hall in New York City, and sold-out dates earlier in Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego.
Christine and the Queens has a busy summer ahead in Europe, with Primavera Sound appearances, Glastonbury, Roskilde Festival, Rock Werchter, and more on the open-air calendar before moving through Canada beginning July 8-9 at MTELUS in Montreal.
An appearance at the country’s massive Festival d’été de Québec in Quebec City kicks off another run of festivals before returning to the UK and Ireland, followed by the U.S. tour.
After launching in the U.S. at the Fillmore Philadelphia, Christine and the Queens moves to House of Blues in Boston, Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, two nights at Lincoln Theater in Washington, D.C.; a quick trip back north of te border to Massey Hall in Toronto, and winding down at The Vic Theater in Chicago.
Paranoïa, Angels, True Love has won positive notice from American press, with the third single, “Tears can be so soft,” called “a transcendental showcase of the mystical healing power of tears.” His recent appearance on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” was called a “gut wrenching rendition” by Pitchfork.
The album is written, performed, and produced by Christine and the Queens, with co-production by Mike Dean (Lana Del Rey, Beyoncé). The album features guest appearances from powerhouses Madonna and 070 Shake.
