Dave Matthews Band Returning To South Africa For First Shows In A Decade

Touring juggernaut Dave Matthews Band will play its first shows in South Africa since 2013 in December, the band announced.

DMB will play Pretoria’s Sun Bet Arena December 10 and Cape Town’s Grand Arena December 12.

An online ticket presale for members of the DMB Warehouse Fan Association begins June 7 at 7 a.m. local time via www.warehouse.davematthewsband.com. The Discovery presale is open to Discovery Cardholders through Ticketmaster.co.za beginning June 7 at 9 a.m. local time through June 9 at 8:59 a.m. local time.

DMB last performed in South Africa — the home country of the band’s eponymous leader — 10 years ago, playing two shows at Grand Arena, grossing $520,723 on 11,909 tickets, according to Boxoffice Reports. The band followed that with a $664,153 gross on 14,616 tickets at Johannesburg’s Ticketpro Dome.

DMB is currently on an extensive North American tour in support of its 10th studio album, Walk Around The Moon.
