Paquin Artists Agency Acquires APA Canada
Paquin Artists Agency has cemented itself as one of the top entertainment companies in North America with the acquisition of Agency for the Performing Arts (APA) Canada. PAA made the major announcement Tuesday and will bring veteran agents Ralph James and Jack Ross onboard as senior vice presidents.
“With this acquisition, PAA expands its footprint by adding an incredible group of people led by Ralph and Jack while also broadening our roster of talented artists,” Julien Paquin, PAA co-president, said in a statement. “It’s a humbling moment to be reminded of the value of hard work and a shared vision of highlighting artistic excellence.”
APA’s roster includes Nickelback, Billy Talent, Badflower, Dragonette, Cowboy Junkies, Lights and Plain White T’s.
Agent Mike Graham will also be making the move to PAA, along with Lorraine Webb, Jean Wilkinson, Jenna MacDonald and Tristan Tammaro.
“I’m thrilled to see the conclusion of this deal and have the team here at APA Canada join Paquin Artists Agency,” Ross said. “We know that joining PAA will create new and unique opportunities for our roster of clients. I want to thank Jim Gosnell and his team at APA for all their support and look forward to a continued productive relationship. I’ve long admired Julien and his team and couldn’t be happier to join them.”
James also had a statement about the merger, saying, “Paquin has grown into an international industry leader, and I look forward to working alongside them, digging in for our clients.”
The Paquin Entertainment Group, which was established in 1985 and also has offices in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Nashville, has had a remarkable year, having formed partnerships with companies such as Loft Entertainment, Blue Crane Agency and Action Entertainment, and the historic acquisition of APA will make the company an even bigger force in the live entertainment industry.
“We have been close friends with Julien and Vinny for many years, they are truly two of the finest people in the business,” Jim Gosnell, CEO of APA Agency, said. “We are excited for Ralph, Jack and our Canadian team to join them and their outstanding team at PAA. This is a win-win situation for everyone involved.”
