Johnny Cash ‘Concert Experience’ Brings The Man In Black To Scores Of Cities

A new multimedia project, combining archival footage with live performance, aims to bring the late Johnny Cash into more than 85 theaters and PACs nationwide.

“Johnny Cash — The Official Concert Experience” uses video from Cash’s 1970s television show projected on a large screen and couples it with a live band and singers on stage to replicate, as best as possible, the experience of seeing The Man In Black live.

The show features narration from John Carter Cash, Cash’s only son and only child with June Carter Cash.

“My father’s music has resonated deeply with fans around the world and we’re looking forward to bringing this music experience to cities across North America,” John Carter Cash said, in a statement.  “I will help narrate the evening and share some intimate stories from my father’s personal life and career in music.”

The tour kicks off October 14 with a two-night stand at the Walton Arts Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Among the many stops? Folsom, California (at the city’s PAC, not its prison this time).

The show is produced by GEAlive, Quatro Entertainment, Maple Tree Entertainment, the Estate of Johnny Cash, John Carter Cash, and Sandbox Succession.
