The team at Wasserman is about to get bigger as the Los Angeles-based sports marketing and entertainment management company is set to buy UK-based CSM Sport & Entertainment.

According to an email sent by Wasserman Chairman and CEO Casey Wasserman to his employees, the acquisition is expected to close in the third quarter of this year to continue building the company’s global business. CSM has 1,200 employees across 22 offices in 11 countries and has marketed and produced events such as NASCAR’s Clash at the Coliseum in Los Angeles and Major League Baseball’s London series that featured two regular season games between the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees at London Stadium in 2019.

“Bringing CSM into Wasserman fulfills a strategic goal to create a talent, brands and properties platform that services clients around the world,” Wasserman wrote in the email on July 19 that was obtained by Pollstar. Further details of the agreement were not disclosed in the message.

The move will bolster Wasserman’s already impressive sports portfolio. The company, which rebranded from Wasserman Media Group in 2016, represents talent from MLB, NFL, NBA, WNBA, NHL and MLS and has grown exponentially in the past few years in the sports and entertainment industry with various acquisitions. Wasserman’s agreement to buy CSM comes on the heels of acquiring Squadra Sports Management, a Belgium-based agency with a roster that included some of the top cyclists in the world, in June and Caric Sports Management, which had a star-studded clientele of NFL talent, in April. Wasserman also bought Team Sauerland, one of the world’s leading boxing promoters, in 2021 and hockey agency Acme World Sports in 2020.
