The Boss needs a break.

According to a statement posted on his social media, Bruce Springsteen has “taken ill,” forcing the postponement of August 16 and 18 concerts scheduled for Philadelphia’s Citizens Bank Park.

The shows will be rescheduled, according to the statement. The next scheduled shows are August 24 and 26 at Foxborough, Massachusetts’s Gillette Stadium.

Bruce Springssteen & The E Street Band’s “2023 Tour” ranked No. 2 on Pollstar‘s Mid-Year list, with an estimated gross of $142.6 million during the reporting period.

The tour, like many others, has been touched by illness, particularly early in the run. E Streeters Soozie Tyrell, Steven Van Zandt, Nils Lofgren and Jake Clemmons have all missed at least one stop due to positive COVID-19 tests.
