Pollstar & VenuesNow 2023 Impact: NextGen Hub
2023 NextGen Roundtable
The kids, whether front of house, back of house, the house office or in the U.S. House of Representatives, are proverbially alright. Thank goodness that. Coming out of those forgettable quarantining years, it wasn’t clear we’d ever get here again. The thing is, we did; but it’s not just back to where we were. Normality, whatever that construct is, was long ago surpassed and we’re now officially in uncharted record-setting territory. And the wind beneath the live industry’s wildly successful wings? NextGen.
They are building the future, and this industry, back better than ever and in new and exciting ways. Whether that’s booking, managing and promoting a young TikTok phenom, launching a new festival, fulfilling the promise of DEI, sustainability and health & wellness, routing new acts through alternative communal spaces or NextGen fans creating new rituals (witness Taylor Swift bracelets or Harry Styles feather boas) proving this generation values and sanctifies the live experience in ways never before seen.
Pollstar’s 2023 Impact; NextGen class, which includes top managers, agents and promoters, experts in sustainability, execs who work in the Latin, Asian and comedy spaces, festival pros and top marketers, is part of elevating live. This is not just the best in class of a generation, these young honorees are some of the best of any generation and worthy stewards to continue this enlightened mission. Congratulations and thank you to all.
