Nine-time Grammy Award-winner Brandi Carlile is ready to rock out with her friends and fans in January as the artist announced the return of her Girls Just Wanna Weekend, and the fifth anniversary of the event boasts an all-female star-studded lineup that includes Janelle Monáe, Sarah McLachlan, Lucius and Allison Russell, who recently graced the cover of Pollstar.
Girls Just Wanna Weekend, an annual four-day all-inclusive concert vacation spearheaded by Carlile, will take place Jan. 18-21, 2024, at Barceló Maya Resort near Cancún in Riviera Maya along Mexico’s northeastern Yucatán Peninsula. The resort will accommodate attendees on one property, which will be called “Brandi Land.” Other artists set to perform include Celisse, KT Tunstall, Wendy & Lisa, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Brandy Clark, Kim Richey, Corook, Monica Martin, Tish Melton, SistaStrings, SmallTown Strings and “a very special guest,” according to the event poster.
Fans who purchased a Blind Faith pre-book will receive room confirmation Tuesday, Sept. 12, and the general onsale takes place Sept. 13 at 2 p.m. ET. All packages include luxury resort accommodations, passes to the shows, round-trip airport transportation, food and beverage, artist-curated activities and off-site adventures. Carlile, who is part of Wasserman Music’s loaded roster, has grossed more than $46 million from 404 shows reported to the Pollstar Boxoffice. The singer-songwriter recently played a few nights supporting P!nk’s “Summer Carnival” tour following a concert at Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank, New Jersey, on July 8. Her performance in the Garden State sold 1,556 tickets and grossed $442,411. Carlile ranked just behind The Rolling Stones at 97th on Pollstar‘s 2022 Year-End Top Tours North America chart with a gross of $15,155,223.
