Kevin Grove has been promoted to vice president, programming at Pittsburgh’s PPG Paints Arena, venue operator Oak View Group announced. The 18,000-seat multi-purpose arena is home to the NHL’s Pittsburgh Penguins and is hosting concerts from Old Dominion and $UICIDEBOY$ this weekend.

Grove, who joined Oak View Group in 2017, previously held the role of director of booking and led national booking efforts for OVG’s Arena Alliance, Stadium Alliance and OVG360 venues.

Before that, Grove was the vice president of event programming at Sunrise Sports & Entertainment, parent company of FLA Live Arena and the NHL’s Florida Panthers.

Grove started his career in the live entertainment business as director of events at Brass Ring Productions, a Michigan-based company that promoted concerts throughout the U.S.

His resume includes serving as vice president and assistant GM for Hicks Cedar Park in Cedar Park, Texas, where he oversaw booking for H-E-B Center in Cedar Park, Texas, and Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas.

“September is a big month for us and we want to continue to build on this momentum,” Hank Abate, senior vice president at OVG overseeing facilities in the Northeast, said in a statement. “With Kevin’s expertise, knowledge and resources, combined with our OVG network, and our promotional partners, we look forward to bringing additional live entertainment to Pittsburgh and creating everlasting memories for our guests across Southwestern Pennsylvania.”

Along with Old Dominion on Friday and $UICIDEBOY$ on Saturday, other upcoming events include Peter Gabriel (Sept. 23), Jonas Brothers (Sept. 25), Stevie Nicks (Sept. 27) and Farruko (Sept. 30). An announcement from OVG notes that September boasts the most concerts PPG Paints Arena has hosted in one month in the venue’s history. Earlier in the month the venue had shows by Aerosmith, Eric Clapton with special guest Jimmie Vaughan and Duran Duran with special guests Nile Rodgers & Chic with Bastille.

OVG360, the full-service venue management division of Oak View Group, was selected to manage, book, and operate PPG Paints Arena in 2022.

Recent reports submitted to Pollstar Boxoffice for PPG Paints Arena include an Aug. 26 show from Rod Stewart that sold 9,726 tickets and grossed $1,037,187.
