Wasserman Music Lands Central Cee For Worldwide Representation
Wasserman Music announced Monday that young British rapper Central Cee signed with the global agency for worldwide representation. The signing of the rising trap rapper follows a label bidding war that resulted in the artist agreeing to a joint venture agreement with Columbia Records and Sony Music UK.
Central Cee cemented himself as one of the biggest stars in the British hip-hop scene when his first mixtape in 2021, Wild West, debuted at No. 2 on the UK Albums Chart and his follow-up, 23, debuted at No. 1 the following year. Central Cee has garnered more than 30 million monthly listeners on Spotify and became the first British rapper to reach over 1 billion streams on the music streaming platform in a single year.
The 25-year-old London native collaborated with Drake over the summer on the freestyle track “On The Radar” and joined the rap superstar’s “It’s All a Blur Tour” as a supporting act for 16 dates. Central Cee recently performed at several major festivals and had a successful run of headline shows across Europe, Australia and North America over the past year. The British rapper played a sold-out show Big Night Live in Boston, Massachusetts, on Feb. 22 that moved 1,700 tickets and grossed $42,011, according to the Pollstar Boxoffice.
Central Cee is represented by Brent Smith, Lauren Marker, Tom Schroeder and Jesse Fayne of Wasserman Music, which boasts a loaded hip-hop roster that includes Drake, Kendrick Lamar, SZA and Childish Gambino.
