Mexican Star Gloria Trevi To Deliver Nostalgia In 2024 With ‘Mi Soundtrack World Tour’
Mexican icon Gloria Trevi, known for her energetic music and rockera flair, announced the first leg of her “Mi Soundtrack World Tour 2024” with style, arriving via helicopter to deliver the news in front of dozens of attendees at Peacock Place in Downtown Los Angeles on Tuesday.
The announcement of the Live Nation-produced tour comes on the heels of what has been a successful summer for the Latin superstar. Trevi, known as the “Supreme Diva of Mexican Pop,” had a biographical series premiere on the Spanish-language streaming platform Vix and also released her first two albums as an independent artist after having spent 15 years with Universal Music Latino.
Much like Taylor Swift, Trevi rerecorded her hit songs and released Mi Soundtrack Vol. 1, which also featured a new track in August. She then released Mi Soundtrack Vol. 2 one month later, and it was during that process of rerecording her music that she came up with the concept of her new tour.
“When the series began and the songs from Mi Soundtrack Vol. 1 were released, I realized that we need that nostalgia but brought to the present, to a vanguard,” Trevi said during the event in L.A. after performing a few songs. “… When [fans] say they’re going to ‘Mi Soundtrack [Tour],’ I don’t want them to say the soundtrack of Gloria Trevi. They will say, ‘My soundtrack.’
Trevi wanted to follow up her 2022 “Isla Divina Tour,” which translates to “Divine Island,” with something that cut a little deeper and would make fans laugh and cry throughout the show.
“The concept of ‘Isla Divina’ was talking a little bit about the apocalypse that we were living in and taking a journey to a beautiful place, a magical place. And in reality, that magical place is us. You guys are my divine island, my safe place,” Trevi told fans. “But ‘Mi Soundtrack’ is more mortal. It’s like opening yourself up and showing your heart. We’re going to expose ourselves, guys. Everyone. We’re going to go to cry, laugh, liberate ourselves and be ourselves — at full pelt.”
Trevi’s trip down memory lane kicks off Jan. 26 at Payne Arena in Hidalgo, Texas, and includes stops at Honda Center in Anaheim, California, Palm Desert’s Acrisure Arena, New York’s Radio City Music Hall, Dos Equis Pavilion in Dallas, Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena and L.A.’s Crypto.com Arena. Her 32-city route wraps up Sept. 22 at White River Amphitheatre in Auburn, Washington. The tour, which includes a performance at Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan, will feature MAR, daughter of the iconic Mexican singer Marco Antonio Solís, as an opening act.
Tickets for the tour go on sale Thursday, Oct. 12, at 10 a.m. local time and can be purchased through LiveNation.com.
The 55-year-old Mexican pop star, managed by Armando Gomez of Great Talent Entertainment and repped by Latino Live Agency, is one of the most successful Latin female stars of all time, selling more than 30 million albums over three decades and earning a Pollstar Awards nomination for Latin Touring Artist of the Decade award in 2021. Since March 2005, Trevi has earned more than $96 million from 262 headline shows reported to the Pollstar Boxoffice. She performed two shows at Mexico City’s Auditorio Nacional on Jan. 20 and Jan. 21 and grossed $1,326,049 off 19,049 tickets sold.
