Smashing Pumpkins, Weezer Going Overseas For 6 European Shows

Weezer and The Smashing Pumpkins, two staples of ’90s alternative rock, are teaming up to co-headline six shows across the United Kingdom and Ireland next summer.

The two bands, who crossed paths in 2022 when they headlined the BeachLife Festival in Redondo Beach, announced the news on their social media pages early Monday morning. The tour will kick off at Utilita Arena in Birmingham, England, on June 7 followed by a stop at London’s The 02. They will then trek to Dublin, Ireland, to perform at 3Arena on June 10 and visit Ovo Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland, two days later. Smashing Pumpkins and Weezer will stop by Manchester, England, on June 13 to play at Co-Op Live, the new Oak View Group-operated venue set to open next spring, before wrapping up at Cardiff Castle in Wales on June 14.

The bands encourage fans to sign up for presales via gigsandtours.com before the window closes on Oct. 17 at 5 p.m. GMT. The presale begins Oct. 18 at 10 a.m. GMT, followed by the general onsale, which begins Oct. 20 at 10 a.m. GMT. Tickets can be purchased via Ticketmaster.

The Smashing Pumpkins are booked by Independent Artist Group in North America. The band has grossed nearly $79 million off of 279 headline shows since April 1999, according to the Pollstar Boxoffice. The Smashing Pumpkins played a show at Orion Amphitheater in Clarkston, Michigan, on Sept. 6 that sold 6,534 tickets and grossed $382,378.

Weezer, who are managed by Crush Music, is repped by WME’s Don Muller in North America and Rod MacSween of International Talent Booking in the rest of the world. Weezer recently wrapped up its Indie Rock Road Trip tour that included Modest Mouse, Future Islands, Spoon, Joyce Manor and White Reaper. The popular band played a sold-out concert at the Greek Theatre At UC Berkeley in Northern California on Aug. 24, selling 8,464 tickets and grossing $658,483. Since 2000, they have sold more than 2.2 million tickets and grossed nearly $79.4 million from 307 headline shows reported to the Pollstar Boxoffice.
