With only a few months remaining in 2023, Samara Joy is getting into the holiday spirit. The two-time Grammy winner announced she will embark on a 14-date tour in December to support her A Joyful Holiday EP, which drops Oct. 27.

Joy, who took home two gramophones earlier this year for Best New Artist and Best Jazz Vocal Album, will kick off the “A Joyful Holiday Tour” at Cullen Theater in Houston, Texas, on Dec. 1, and the route includes stops at Nashville Symphony in Tennessee, Los Angeles’ Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts, two hometown shows at New York’s Apollo Theater and the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia. The tour wraps up at the Music Center At Strathmore in North Bethesda, Maryland, on Dec. 23.

The jazz artist will be backed by Shedrick Mitchell on piano, Eric Wheeler on bass and Charles Haynes on drums as she performs her holiday single “Warm in December” as well classic tunes including “O Holy Night” and “Angels We Have Heard On High.” The tour promises “possible surprise guests” as well as special performances featuring Joy’s uncle Laurone McLendon and her cousins Tommy Niblack and T. Lovey Rowe.

“Singing alongside my family has always been a special time kept between us but this December, I’m excited to share that special feeling with you all!” Joy said in a statement. “This holiday season, it brings me great joy to present my first role models, the McLendon Family, on a month-long tour throughout the U.S. Join us for a show you’ll never forget!”

Since winning her Grammy awards, Joy has toured across the world and performed at big events such as the Newport Jazz Festival in Rhode Island, Jazz a Vienne in France and North Sea Jazz Festival in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Her sold-out show at The Birchmere in Alexandria, Virginia, on Dec. 20, 2022, moved 500 tickets and grossed $19,750, according to the Pollstar Boxoffice. The 23-year-old singer from the Bronx, New York, is managed by Matt Pierson and booked by Chris Mees of B Natural agency in the U.S.
