New Kids On The Block Recreate Their ‘Magic Summer’ In ’24
New Kids on the Block are already turning their sights onto the summer with the announcement of “The Magic Summer 2024 Tour.” The Live Nation-promoted trek reimagines the famed boy band’s 1990 tour of the same name and will stop by 40 cities.
Paula Abdul and DJ Jazzy Jeff will be joining the boy band on tour as special guests throughout the trek.
The tour features stops in Denver, Salt Lake City, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Toronto, Chicago and more. The trek kicks off on June 14 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, wrapping up on Aug. 25 in Noblesville, Indiana.
The “Magic Summer Tour” in 1990 sold out entirely and was sponsored by Coca-Cola and McDonalds. This tour will find the band performing their greatest hits as they recreate the magic from their iconic tour, with some stops featuring the band playing the same venues as they did 34 years prior.
“The true ‘magic’ of this tour is the music, the moments and the shared memories that we get to create — and recreate — with our amazing fans each night,” the band’s Donnie Wahlberg said in a statement. “Feeling all the nostalgic feels of the original Magic Summer, with the bond that we’ve shared throughout the years, will make for a most magical time indeed.”
On May 26, the band performed at Rosemont Theatre in Rosemont, Illinois, grossing $1.9 million, according to reports submitted to Pollstar’s Boxoffice. On July 15 and 16, 2022, they performed two nights at Boston’s TD Garden, grossing $1.8 million.
New Kids on the Block are represented by Jared Paul at Faculty Management and Mitch Rose at CAA.
Tickets for the tour go on sale Nov. 3 at 10 a.m. local time via Live Nation. Fans can access presale tickets both through Fanclub and Citi, with Citi cardmembers pre sale access starting Nov. 1 at 12 p.m. local time and lasting until Nov. 2 at 10 p.m. local time through the Citi Entertainment program.
