Tuscany’s Lucca Summer Festival provides a rock and pop hall of fame-level lineup seemingly every year. For this year’s 25th anniversary KISS, Bob Dylan, Blur, The Chemical Brothers and Robbie Williams joined the month-long celebration. Past performers include David Bowie, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Roger Waters, Ray Charles, Eagles and The Rolling Stones.

Promoter D’Alessandro e Galli also organizes La Prima Estate, which expanded to two weekends for its second edition, June 16-25, “with great results in terms of audience and experience, thanks to performances like Jamiroquai and Lana Del Rey,” Mimmo D’Alessandro tells Pollstar.

Other highlights from D’Alessandro e Galli’s past year include seven soldout Roger Waters concerts in Milan and Bologna; Bob Dylan’s Italian dates; as well as concerts at the beautiful Teatro Grande in Pompeii by Robert Plant, Yusuf/Cat Stevens, and Nick Mason. And while D’Alessandro, business partner and company co-founder Adolfo Galli and the entire team are “very proud of our summer season,” there’s no time to rest on one’s laurels.

“We’re already very focused on our future commitments and started working on 2024 right away,” says D’Alessandro, who’s “thrilled to be the Italian promoters for Taylor Swift’s shows in Milan in July 2024.”

D’Alessandro and Galli began working together on Joe Cocker’s Italian tour in 1987. Over the next 35-plus years, with offices in Viareggio and Brescia, far from the main centers like Rome and Milan, they’ve built a reputation for putting on shows in historic sites and spectacular landscapes. The team embraces any “chance to be creative and to adapt spectacular historic sites into breathtaking venues,” D’Alessandro explains. “We always believed in the power of our country, charming and contradictory at the same time, and in the beauty of the purest entertainment.”
