One of the leaders in the new Mexican music movement, Fuerza Regida, wrapped up its highly successful “Otra Peda Tour” with yet another sold-out show in the bandmembers’ backyard of Anaheim, California, on Saturday.

Fuerza Regida, a five-member regional Mexican band that proudly hails from San Bernardino, California, closed out their ambitious Live Nation-produced tour, which saw them trek to 27 cities across the U.S., with a concert for their home crowd at the Honda Center on Nov. 25.

It was only fitting for the humble band to cap their stellar year with a concert near where it all started for them. Fuerza Regida went from playing Southern California house parties and promoting performances with self-printed flyers to selling out every show of this year’s “Otra Peda Tour” and winning numerous awards for their chart-topping urban-infused regional Mexican hits. From July through October, Fuerza Regida has grossed $31.3 million and sold 247,614 tickets across 21 shows reported to the Pollstar Boxoffice. The Mexican band’s most impressive showing was the second show of their “Otra Peda Tour” at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles California on July 15 when they played in front of a sold-out crowd of 22,392 and grossed $3,681,730.

That success carried on throughout the remainder of the tour as the band continued to not only sell out arenas but also release new music that resonated with audiences. Pa las Baby’s Y Belikeada hits “TQM” and “SABOR FRESA” surpassed 285 million streams on Spotify, and the band’s monthly listeners total on the streaming platform has shot up to 31 million, making them one of the hottest acts in Mexican music today.

“We’re taking over the charts right now,” Jesus Ortiz Paz, the band’s leading vocalist, told Pollstar following their show at BMO Stadium. “Back then with Latin music, the only thing popping was reggaeton, and we thought, ‘Why can’t we be part of this?’ And now, there’s Mexicans popping in and doing everything.”

Ortiz Paz and his bandmates are among those leading the charge in the new wave of Mexican music and aspire to accomplish even larger goals in 2024 and beyond.

“I see myself as one of the pioneers of all of this that’s going on now,” Ortiz Paz said. “I want to maintain my spot for as long as I’m here. … That’s how we want to feel: like the goal was accomplished, and we did better than last year. We went from Crypto.com Arena to BMO, and hopefully next year we go to a bigger venue: to SoFi Stadium. It’s all about manifestation. That’s all I believe in.”
