Tony Orlando Announces Final Concert, Set For Connecticut’s Mohegan Sun Arena

Tony Orlando will tie a ribbon around his career, which has spanned 60 years, with a final concert scheduled for March 22 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.

The show will mark the 65th performance at the venue for the award-winning pop star over the past 23 years. Orlando was inducted into Mohegan Sun’s Walk of Fame in 2010.

“I am so honored that my last concert will be at my favorite venue on Earth, Mohegan Sun Arena,” Tony Orlando said in a statement. “My relationship with Tom Cantone, the stage crews, and staff at Mohegan Sun Arena has been flawless. I also want to thank all my friends within the Mohegan Tribe for making me feel like family, and for the opportunity to say goodbye. Thank you for making my dreams come true.”

Tom Cantone, President of Sports & Entertainment for Mohegan, added, “We are honored that after such an historic entertainment and humanitarian career, Tony Orlando has chosen Mohegan Sun to host his final live performance. It’s now time for us to give him a standing ovation for entertaining over 100,000 fans at Mohegan Sun over the years, something that only Billy Joel has done, as he will be forever part of Mohegan’s entertainment family.” 

Tickets go on sale Friday, January 12th at 10:00 a.m. via Ticketmaster.com. Subject to availability, the Mohegan Sun Box Office will also host an onsales that starts Jan. 13.  

Including his No. 1 song “Tie A  Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree” – which he recorded in 1973 with Dawn – Orlando has released 15 Top 40 hits, two platinum albums and three gold albums during his career, with millions of copies sold. 

His accolades include two American Music Awards and one People’s Choice Award for “Best Male Entertainer.” He was the 2016 recipient of the Casino Entertainer of the Year award, and the received the Bob Hope Award for excellence in entertainment from the Congressional Medal of Honor Society honoring his efforts on behalf of our nation’s veterans. Plus, he was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1990. 

Recent reports submitted to Pollstar Boxoffice for Orlando include a July 15, 2023, show at Mohegan Sun Arena that sold 3,533 tickets and grossed $114,275.
