Madness Books First U.S. Tour Since 2012
British ska/pop band Madness has announced a brief run of dates marking its first U.S. tour since 2012. Get ready to sing along to the lyrics of beloved hit singles like “Our House” – and a whole bunch of new tunes.
Madness is supporting its 13th studio album, Theatre of the Absurd Presents C’est la Vie, which was released in November via BMG Rights Management. The LP is the band’s first full-length release since 2016’s Can’t Touch Us Now and its first ever to hit No. 1 in the U.K.
The routing for “C’est La Vie In America” starts May 22 at Seattle’s Wamu Theater, followed by two nights in Oakland, California, and stops in Las Vegas and Boston. The last gig is May 30 at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom.
“I remember the first time we were in the USA, crossing the Brooklyn Bridge, The Mud Club, ABC City,” Madness frontman Suggs said in a statement. “I remember Jellybean Benetiz, Madonna, Beastie Boys, Run DC, Link Ray. I remember California, Fishbone, BossTones, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Whisky Gogo, The Dead Kennedys. America was everything we hoped it would be, we were small fish and we still are and we can’t wait to be swimming in those waters again!”
An artist presale starts Jan. 17 using the code CESTLAVIE. Visit https://www.madness.co.uk/ for more details. Additional presales are scheduled Jan. 18, followed by the general onsale Jan. 19.
Madness is managed by Anglo Management Music Ltd and booked by WME.
The most recent report submitted to Pollstar Boxoffice for Madness is a Dec. 16 show at Utilita Arena Birmingham that sold 14,680 tickets and grossed $829,730.
