Just Like Heaven 2024 Topped By The Postal Service, Phoenix & Death Cab For Cutie
Just Like Heaven Festival will get a double dose of Ben Gibbard with performances from headliner The Postal Service and Death Cab For Cutie. The lineup announcement follows the recent news that the bands were extending their co-headlining tour into spring 2024 in celebration of the 20th anniversary of their respective albums Give Up and Transatlanticism.
“We are thrilled to headline Just Like Heaven,” Gibbard, frontman of both groups, said in a statement. “It’s a great festival and opportunity to bring the 20th anniversary celebration of ‘Give Up’ and ‘Transatlanticism’ back to the Los Angeles area.”
Promoter Goldenvoice, which is the creator of Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival and Stagecoach, unveiled details for Just Like Heaven on Monday. The fourth annual festival – described as “an out-of-this-world celebration of era-defining indie rock and electro dance” – is scheduled May 18 at Brookside at The Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.
Just Like Heaven’s lineup also features Phoenix, The War on Drugs, Passion Pit, Alvvays, Two Door Cinema Club, Phantogram, Metric, Gossip, Tegan and Sara, Washed Out, A Club Called Rhonda and more. Check out the lineup poster below.
The Postal Service will play its influential, platinum-selling album Give Up in its entirety. Other notable performances include indie rock band Gossip’s first U.S. festival set following the March release of Real Power – marking the band’s first full-length album in 12 years. Plus, Swedish electropop group Miike Snow will put on its first performance since 2019 (in which they also appeared at JLH) and Brazilian indie rock band CSS (aka Cansei de Ser Sexy) is celebrating its 20th anniversary.
