Munich, Germany, will be treated to four concerts by Adele this year, Aug. 2-3 and 9-10 – the superstar’s only concerts in Europe in 2024.

The open-air concerts will take place across two weekends at Munich’s exhibition center, Messe München, which will offer a capacity of around 80,000 per show – a combination of seated stands, seated floor, and standing spaces.

The concerts are promoted by Live Nation and Leutgeb Entertainment Group, who have collaborated successfully on mega concerts on the fairgrounds in the past.

Update, Feb. 2, 7.15 a.m. PST: To satisfy what Live Nation described as “phenomenal demand,” four additional Adele in Munich shows have been added to the previously announced ones.

Adele has added shows on Aug. 14, 16, 23, and 24 (see full itinerary below).

Live Nation GSA CEO Marek Lieberberg told Pollstar, “We are honored that Adele has chosen Live Nation, and Munich for her exclusive European performances in 2024. I am truly proud that we have achieved this in an incredible team effort and with a unique concept. Personally, I consider it a huge privilege to organize this exceptional open air residency.”

Adele commented on her decision to grace the stage in Munich via her Instagram profile, where she wrote: “So a few months ago I got a call about a summer run of shows. I’ve been content as anything with my shows in London’s Hyde Park and my residency in Vegas, so I hadn’t had any other plans. However, I was too curious to not follow up and indulge in this idea – a one off, bespoke pop-up stadium designed around whatever show I want to put on? Ohh!? Pretty much slap bang in the middle of Europe? In Munich? That’s a bit random, but still fabulous! Right after the Euros? Come on England! With the Olympics next door? Go on Simone! And some of my favourite artists playing shows too? Why…YES!! I haven’t played in Europe since 2016! I couldn’t think of a more wonderful way to spend my summer and end this beautiful phase of my life and career with shows closer to home during such an exciting summer. Guten Tag babes x”

Adele hinted via a post on Instagram that she would be reimagining a new show for her Munich dates. A rendering courtesy of Live Nation shows what that could look like.

Adele was referring to her 2016 tour in support of her Grammy-winning album 25, that took her to several countries on the European continent. Highlights from the Pollstar Boxoffice include two sold-out nights at Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona, Spain, May 24-35, selling 31,075, and grossing $2,858,760; two sold-out Meo Arenas in Lisbon, Portugal, May 21-22 (36,081 tickets, $2,692,989 gross); and two sold-out nights at Hallenstadion Zurich in Switzerland, May 17-18 (26,480, $2,776,115).

The German dates included two nights each at Lanxess Arena Cologne, Barclaycard Arena Hamburg, and Mercedes-Benz Arena Berlin, all sold out. The completely sold-out UK leg of that tour was also incredibly successful, with a Glastonbury headlining performance, and eight dates at London’s O2 that sold 126,043 tickets and brought in a staggering $14.3 million. Adele ranked No. 5 on Pollstar’s Year End Worldwide Tours chart that year, 2016, with a $167.7 million gross.

Adele is currently on the final leg of her internationally acclaimed Las Vegas residency, “Weekends with Adele,” which runs at The Colosseum At Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, NV until mid-June. By then, the incredible run will have spanned a total of 50 weekends, and 100 shows by the end of the tour.

Ticket registration is now open via adele.com, and runs until 6 p.m. CEST on Monday, Feb. 5. Fans will receive access to purchase tickets beginning Tuesday, Feb. 6, with ticket sales for registered fans beginning Feb. 7 at 10 a.m. The general pre-sale is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 9, at 10 a.m.

Adele is represented by Jonathan Dickins’ September Management, and Lucy Dickins, partner, and global head of contemporary music and touring, WME.
