Akon Announces First UK/Euro Tour In A Decade
Akon will tour the UK and Europe for the first time in a decade, performing in clubs, auditoriums, and theaters in all the main cities, from London to Paris to Berlin to Prague.
“The Superfan Tour” sees Akon perform all of the fan favorites he’s amassed over the past 20 years, from “Right Now (Na Na Na)” to “Soul Survivor.” The tour is produced by Live Nation, just like his recent 15-city North American run, which also visited different buildings, ranging from 2,000 to 4,000 capacity.
One highlight from the Pollstar Boxoffice is the sold-out Nov. 12 show at the Citizens House of Blues in Boston, MA, moving all available 2,425 tickets for a
$168,602 gross.
Akon has a large fanbase in the UK and Europe, where he broke through with hits like “Locked Up,” and “Lonely,” both featured on his debut album “Trouble.”
He is the founder of record labels Konlive, Konvict Kulture, and KONVICT Music, which have launched global artists such as T-Pain, Lady Gaga, and Kardinal Offishall.
Across his two-decade career, Akon sold over 35 million albums, received five Grammy nominations, and released 45 Billboard Hot 100 songs, while contributing to countless songs by other icons, such as Michael Jackson, David Guetta, Gwen Stefani, Lil’ Wayne, and Eminem.
Akon is represented by Mike “Mike G” Guirguis at UTA. Contact details, including representation outside of North America, is available to Pollstar subscribers here.
