Totally Tubular Festival A Hit, Adds Five Dates
Music fans have a hankering for ’80s tunes. The Totally Tubular Festival, which features popular new wave acts such as Thomas Dolby, Thompson Twins’ Tom Bailey and Men Without Hats, announced it will be expanding into more markets this summer following a strong response to the initial dates.
“Sales in our initial 17 markets have been so strong, that I decided to add new markets, and invite more friends to the party,” Jon Pleeter Chief Party Officer of Totally Tubular Festival, said in a statement.
The traveling festival will now visit 22 cities across North America with the addition of shows in Seattle, Sacramento, Huntsville, Washington, D.C. and Cleveland. It kicks off at Remlinger Farms in Seattle on June 25 and wraps up at Cleveland’s Blossom Music Center on July 28.
Additional acts include Modern English (in select markets), The Romantics, Bow Wow Wow, Tommy Tutone (in select markets) and The Plimsouls. Wang Chung will be performing in Huntsville and Washington, D.C. Tickets for the new shows go on sale Feb. 16 at 10 a.m. local time and can be purchased at TotallyTubularFestival.com. Each ticket will also help local communities with a portion of the proceeds going toward food banks in each market.
“This event will be an explosion of fun and excitement, from the opening note to the final curtain,” Ivan Doroschuk of Men Without Hats said in a statement. “It is truly an honor to be a part of the 2024 Totally Tubular Festival and share the stage with our illustrious contemporaries from the greatest decade of new wave music. Come join us and sing along to all the hits!”
