Tenille Townes Headlines North American ‘As You Are Tour’ This Spring (Exclusive)
Canadian singer-songwriter Tenille Townes, who’s toured extensively with artists including Keith Urban, Miranda Lambert, Shania Twain and George Strait, hits the road in the U.S. as a headliner on the “As You Are Tour” come spring, including stops in San Diego, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Denver, Lexington, Cincinnati, Cleveland, as well as Stagecoach and Moon Crush festivals. Tickets are on sale Friday Feb 16 through her website.
In addition to support roles for some of country’s top artists, Townes has toured extensively outside the U.S., including Australia, Ireland, German and a sold-out run across the UK. Her international touring efforts earned her a nomination for the Country Music Association’s International Artist Achievement Award.
Townes got her first taste of major stages as a 9-year-old, joining Shania Twain onstage for a solo chorus and rendition of “Honey, I’m Home,” and was soon performing the national anthem at hockey games and gaining notice of promoter Ken Truen, who began booking her festival sets.
She started a charity called Big Hearts for Big Kids at 15, when she found out the youth shelter in her hometown was going to close. Townes raised $30,000 through what started as a backyard benefit concert that year. To date, she has raised more than $2.5 million for the charity, which has grown to support U.S.-based organizations including the Girl Scouts of Middle Tennesse, S.A.F.E. Animal Haven and the Manna House.

After five weeks proving a Winnebego tour of the region’s middle and high schools – using fifth graders for roadies, gas station and grocery store sponsorships for food and fuel – could work, Townes’ father agreed to let her spend the 32 weeks of “freshman year” covering the rest of Canada. Nominated for Female Artist of the Year at the Canadian Country Music Awards at 17, she was given their Humanitarian of the Year Award at 18.
More recently, she released a duet with Canadian superstar Bryan Adams, and followed that with a five-song project called the “Train Track Worktapes” last year. Townes conceptualized, wrote, and recorded the EP on a 15-day, 3,000-mile, train trip where she played 65 shows at stops in communities across Canada.
The RCA Records artist is represented by WME Nashville in North America and WME’s Beverly Hills office for Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
Townes is a 15-time Canadian Country Music Association Award winner, a two-time Juno Awards Country Album of the Year Winner, and a two-time ACM Award-winner.
