Teenage Fanclub Announces Return To North America
While it may be true that nothing lasts forever, on the bright side Teenage Fanclub is still around and has finally announced dates for its first North American tour since 2019.
“We’re really excited to be heading back to North America! Hard to believe the last time was five years ago,” Teenage Fanclub’s Raymond McGinley said in a statement. “Really looking forward to seeing you from the stage in April and May.”
The April-May tour – which follows a run of dates in the UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan – starts April 25 in Saxapahaw, North Carolina, at the Haw River Ballroom. The routing includes gigs at Washington, D.C.’s 9:30 Club, Montreal’s Theatre Fairmont, Toronto’s Concert Hall, Chicago’s Thalia Hall, Seattle’s The Crocodile and San Francisco’s Fillmore. THe last stop is Teragram Ballroom, which will host the band for two nights May 17-18.
The Scottish alternative rock / power pop group is supporting its 11th studio album, 2023’s Nothing Lasts Forever.
A review from Pitchfork says, “The songcraft matters but so does the interplay, and that’s why Teenage Fanclub’s power-pop still resonates. They’re not interested in crafting the platonic ideal of an AM pop song—they’re using pop music as a lifeline.”
Presales are ongoing now with the password “FOREVER.” The general onsale begins Friday, Feb. 23, at 10 a.m. local time.
Teenage Fanclub is booked by High Road Touring in North America. Check out the routing below. Recent reports submitted to Pollstar Boxoffice include a sold-out Nov. 2, 2023, show at 3Olympia Theatre in Dublin, Ireland, that sold 630 tickets and grossed $24,854.
