Billy Joel will be making his way back to Inglewood, California, only this time it will be to perform at the soon-to-open arena that has everybody buzzing in the live entertainment industry. The legendary musician announced he will bring his intimate show to Intuit Dome on Oct. 12 for one night only.

Tickets for the show go on sale to the general public Friday, March 1, at 10 a.m. PT. The presale window begins Monday, Feb. 26, at 10 a.m. PT and ends Feb. 29 at 10 p.m. PT. Tickets can be purchased at Ticketmaster.com.

Last year, Joel, one of the most successful solo artists in live entertainment, slayed at the box office with his Madison Square Garden residency as well as his tour with Stevie Nicks, a run that ranked 28th on Pollstar’s Year End Top 200 Worldwide Tours with a gross of $75,254,482. The legendary pianist and songwriter visited Japan on Jan. 24 for one night at the Tokyo Dome, and the sold-out show hauled in a whopping $7.9 million off 44,401 tickets, according to Pollstar Boxoffice.

Joel, repped by Dennis Arfa of the Independent Artist Group, recently performed his first single in 17 years, “Turn the Lights Back On,” during the Grammy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee is the second artist to announce a show at Intuit Dome, the new home of the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers that will open in August and promises to be a state-of-the-art venue for live entertainment. Usher was the first to announce upcoming concerts at the venue.

Clippers owner Steve Ballmer shared his vision for the arena as a keynote speaker at this year’s Pollstar Live!, the largest gathering of live entertainment professionals, saying he wanted the building to be “the zenith of basketball.”
