Sublime With Rome Announce Final Dates After Sublime Originals United With Late Sublime Lead Singer’s Son
Sublime With Rome, the spin-off band tied to the legacy of SoCal ska-punks Sublime, will tour for the final time this summer.
The group began touring as Sublime in 2009, with the eponymous Rome Ramirez on vocals and guitar and original Sublime members Eric Wilson on bass and Bud Gaugh on drums. The band’s use of the name was challenged by the estate of original Sublime vocalist Bradley Nowell, who died in 1996 before Sublime’s international success. The band then appended “With Rome” and has toured regularly ever since, though Gaugh left in 2011 and was replaced by Josh Freese, now the drummer for Foo Fighters.
In December, Nowell’s son, Jakob, performed at a benefit with Wilson and Gaugh and it was then announced he would be doing so going forward under the Sublime moniker. Rome said he was honored to have carried on the legacy as long as he did, though at the time it was unclear what the future would be for Sublime With Rome. Last week, Wilson announced he was leaving the band.
The Sublime With Rome touring lineup is, in addition to Ramirez, Joe Tomino on drums, Brian Allen (Miranda Lambert, Zac Brown) on the bass, and Gabrial McNair (No Doubt, Green Day), on the trombone/keys.
The tour kicks of April 11 at Hard Rock Live Tulsa in Catoosa, Oklahoma, and includes amphitheater, festival and fair stops and a show at Red Rocks April 27. The final show is set for September 14 at the Power & Light in Kansas City. See the full routing below. Tickets will go on sale Friday, March 8th 10 am local at https://www.sublimewithrome.com/tour.
Sublime With Rome sold 3,540 tickets at Mesa Amphitheater in Mesa, Arizona, October 7, grossing $267,555, according to Pollstar Boxoffice reports. They are repped by Steve Gordon at UTA.
