The Nation’s Capital is getting another large-scale music and entertainment venue without incurring the costs of actually having to build it from scratch. This because D.C. Stadium LLC and Dave Niedbalski’s Grand Rising Curations just announced a multi-year partnership to expand Audi Field’s entertainment offerings with concerts and festivals. The deal between D.C. Stadium, LLC and Grand Rising will be the first of its kind since Audi Field opened in 2018.

Located in SW D.C.’s Buzzard Point neighborhood, Audi Field is a 20,000 cap soccer-specific stadium home to Major League Soccer’s D.C. United, the National Women’s Soccer League’s Washington Spirit, and the DC Defenders of the United Football League.

Grand Rising Curations was founded by Dave Niedbalski, an independent concert and festival promoter who worked for 14 years with Live Nation.

“It’s exciting to share with the concert community that we’re open for business and the possibilities are endless,” Niedbalski said in a statement. “DMV is such a dynamic, diverse, and special market and Audi Field is truly a premier venue — impeccable sightlines, extremely intimate for its size and all the premium spaces and amenities to elevate the experience. Artists and fans will love watching it come to life.”

“Audi Field has been a central hub for sports and entertainment in Washington, D.C. since opening in 2018, hosting D.C. United soccer matches, Howard University football games, and music and culinary festivals,” said Danita Johnson, D.C. United President of Business Operations, in a statement. “We aim to expand our horizons by adding a robust lineup of concerts and entertainment acts to further establish ourselves as the cultural center of our vibrant city.

“We are thrilled to partner with Grand Rising Curations to continue to expand the events and entertainment offerings at Audi Field. We are incredibly eager to bring shows to Audi Field that are reflective of the DMV’s vibrant community.” said Janine Brunson-Johnson, D.C. United Senior Director of Events and Entertainment. “Dave brings an extraordinary breadth of knowledge and experience to this partnership. It is exciting to have the opportunity to work with him in this capacity.”

Audi Field was the host of the 2023 MLS All-Star Game vs. Arsenal FC. The building also includes a FanDuel sportsbook, 500 premium field-level seats and 31 luxury suites. F&B at Audi Field is operated by Levy Restaurants.

Over the last twenty years, Washington, D.C.’s Navy Yard area has become a thriving neighborhood with massive housing and retail development anchored by Nationals Park, home to Major League Baseball Washington Nationals which opened in 2008.
