Killer Mike Announces ‘Down By Law – Summer 2024 Tour’

Killer Mike 2024

Killer Mike is taking his Grammy Award-winning album on the road for a fresh round of dates. He’s just unveiled the routing for a North American headline trek dubbed “Down By Law – Summer 2024 Tour,” featuring his choir The Midnight Revival.

The Run The Jewels MC rapper the Grammys in all three major rap categories, winning Best Rap Album for Michael, along with Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance for “Scientists & Engineers” (with André 3000 featuring Future and Eryn Allen Kane).

Shortly after his wins at the Grammys in February, Killer Mike was escorted from Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena in handcuffs and booked on a misdemeanor that stemmed from a reported altercation with a security guard. He was released that evening.

“As you can imagine, there was a lot going on and there was some confusion around which door my team and I should enter,” Mike said in a statement at the time. “We experienced an overzealous security guard but my team and I have the utmost confidence that I will ultimately be cleared of all wrongdoing.”

He also told “The View” co-host Sunny Hostin, “I’d like to say, all of my heroes have been in handcuffs. Malcolm, Martin, Mandela, Medgar. I walked out with the same dignity and respect I walked in with. I would implore people to take that from it. Don’t dwell on the bad stuff.”

All that said, the tour isn’t a reference to the incident but instead takes its name from the first track on his Michael album. The itinerary includes three nights at New York’s Blue Note, along with stops at Toronto’s Danforth Music Hall, Minneapolis’ First Avenue, Denver’s Ogden Theater and Los Angeles’ The Novo. Killer Mike is also playing several festivals including Vancouver Jazz Fest, Festival d’été de Québec and Lollapalooza.

To go with the tour announcement, Killer Mike released a new video for the track “Exit 9” (featuring Blxst)” that highlights Atlanta landmarks from the Cascade roller rink to the Blue Flame. The video also features audio for his Grammy acceptance speech for Best Rap Album in which he declared: “You cannot tell me that you get too old, you can’t tell me it’s too late, you can’t tell me that dreams don’t come true!”

An artist presale starts April 4 at 10 a.m., followed by the public onsale April 5 at 10 a.m..

Killer Mike is booked in the U.S. and Canada by Wasserman Music’s Sam Hunt.

Reports submitted to Pollstar Boxoffice for Killer Mike include a July 24, 2023, show at First Avenue that sold 1,196 tickets and grossed $39,468.
