On the heels of selling out its two-night grand opening with Bruno Mars, Intuit Dome announced that it has added one of the most successful Mexican comedians to its entertainment programming. Franco Escamilla will be the first Spanish-language stand-up comic to headline the new home of the Clippers, a state-of-the-art arena located in Inglewood, California, that is set to open Aug. 15.

Escamilla, known as “El Amo del Sarcasmo” (“The Master of Sarcasm”), will perform at the soon-to-open venue on Sept. 27. Tickets for the show will be available at 10 a.m. PST via Ticketmaster.

Hailing from Cuautla, Morelos in Mexico, Escamilla has toured the world and performed in Japan, France and Ireland on top of his many shows throughout the States, Mexico and South America. Since April 2016, Escamilla has grossed $20.78 million off 76 headline shows reported to Pollstar Boxoffice. Including a sold-out performance at Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois, on Oct. 27, 2023, that had a $851,466 haul off 11,096 tickets sold.

Intuit Dome has already announced a standout group of artists set to perform at the arena this year. Bruno Mars will open the venue and perform his first concert in the Los Angeles area since 2018, comedian Sebastian Maniscalco will follow with a performance on Aug. 17 and Phil Wickham and Brandon Lake will bring their “Summer Worship Night” to the arena on Aug. 22. Twenty One Pilots’ “The Clancy World Tour” includes two stops at the new venue on Aug. 27 and 28, Usher’s highly-anticipated “Past Present Future Tour” comes to Intuit Dome for four nights (Sept. 21, 22, 24 and 25), Weezer will visit the arena to play their beloved self-titled debut in its entirety on Oct. 11 and Billy Joel will stop by for a special one-night-only performance on Oct. 12. Mexican music stars Fuerza Regida recently announced that their “Pero No Te Enamores Tour” (“But Don’t Fall In Love Tour”) will wrap up at Intuit Dome on Nov. 16.

Clippers owner Steve Ballmer, who was a keynote speaker at Pollstar Live! in February, set out to make the pinnacle of live entertainment with a $2 billion venue that will set a new standard for venues with world-class amenities, stellar sightlines, remarkable sound, premium seating and much more.

“I want this to be the penultimate basketball experience on the planet, as good as it gets, the pinnacle and the peak,” Ballmer, the former CEO of Microsoft, said on Jan. 16. “Now of course, some year somebody will bypass us, but man, we put everything into getting ahead of that into this building.”
