Gwen Stefani, blink-182 To Headline Inaugural South Star Festival In Huntsville, AL
Rock ‘n’ roll is coming to the Rocket City as Huntsville, Alabama, is set to host the inaugural South Star Festival, headlined by blink-182 and Gwen Stefani, September 28 and 29 at the city’s John Hunt Park.
In addition to the headliners, the first-time fest from C3 includes 20 artists on two stages, including Shinedown, Beck, Jane’s Addiction, Sublime, Goo Goo Dolls, Jimmy Eat World, TLC, Ludacris, Juvenile and the 400 Degreez Band, Big Boi, Gin Blossoms, Pete Yorn, Candlebox, Vanessa Carlton, Winona Fighter, Bully, Dexter & Moonrocks, and Billy Allen + The Pollies.
The festival includes a “massive sports bar on site,” according to a press release. Given that the festival runs afoul of one of the basic Southern scheduling rule — to wit: “never have an event on an autumn Saturday” — this is perhaps a necessary perk, allowing festival goers to stay abreast of all the college football goings-on.
