Sierra Ferrell, Patty Griffin Top Bill At Inaugural Evanston Folk Festival

Critically acclaimed singer-songwriters Sierra Ferrell and Patty Griffin will headline the Evanston Folk Festival, a first-time event at the Illinois city’s Dawes Park set for September 7 and 8.

In addition to Ferrell and Griffin, the SPACE Presents-produced event will include performances by Hiss Golden Messenger, Sarah Jarosz, Bonnie “Prince” Billy, Madi Diaz, Gaby Moreno, Dom Flemons and more on three stages.

In addition, the festival’s Conversation Tent will feature panel discussions, speakers and interviews with Jeff Tweedy, Ann Powers, Greg Kot, Francesca Royster, Mark Guarino with more to be announced.

General tickets go on sale on May 3 at 10 a.m. Central and can be purchased here.

In addition, a series of after-shows — ticketed separately — are planned for both nights of the festival. Deer Tick will play at SPACE September 7. Rufus Wainwright and Steve Earle will play Cahn Auditorium on the campus of Northwestern University September 7 and 8, respectively. Tickets for those shows go on sale May 17 at 10 a.m. Central. Presale tickets for EFF ticket holders go on sale May 14 at 10 a.m. Central.
