John Silva is firing on all cylinders: His client Beck is on an ambitious orchestral tour that takes him to Carnegie Hall and the Hollywood Bowl among other venues; Jenny Lewis is out on the road celebrating Postal Service’s classic 2003 album, Give Up; Norah Jones is gearing up for her own headlining tour supporting her 2024 album Limits Visions; and St. Vincent is on the road for her recent album, All Born Screaming; and most thankfully he’s helped bring Foo Fighters back from the brink of collapse following the tragic death of their beloved longtime drummer Taylor Hawkins. And, as we were going to press, client Queens Of The Stone Age just added a handful of dates to its “The End Is Nero Tour.”

Throughout more than three decades in the music industry, Silva has gained the respect and trust of his peers. He’s been recognized as Manager of the Year at the Pollstar Awards two years running, both in 2023 and 2024. His clients admire him greatly, Beck writing in 2020 to celebrate Silva’s 60th birthday, “The legendary John Silva, whose room-sized laugh and huge spirit has lifted the sails of many musicians, myself included. Eternally grateful and lucky to have had your guidance for so long.”

Dave Grohl appeared at the Pollstar Awards in 2023 to honor Silva with the Manager of the Year award, sharing the story of how he and Silva met in 1990. “[Nirvana] realized that he was one of us, an avid record collector, a musicologist, and we knew that this person based all his love of music and his business on integrity, which was something that was very important to us,” Grohl said at the time. “And over the years, we’ve had some incredible triumphs and some devastating crises, but the one thing that has kept us together over the years is love… I truly believe that Silva and I are like family.”

Highlights from The Postal Service’s current trek include a $558,264 gross at their May 7 date at Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Missouri, according to Pollstar Boxoffice Reports. St. Vincent and Norah Jones both recently appeared at BottleRock Napa Valley music festival on May 24. Meanwhile, Foo Fighters are returning to stadiums in 2024 following last year’s stint at festivals and amphitheaters.
