Alice Faye Kelly, who was the longtime business manager for Moo TV, died June 20 from pancreatic cancer at age 73. She also worked for Moo Creative and Nashville performance and event venue The Steel Mill, which, along with Moo TV, is part of the Udder family of companies.

Moo TV provides video production for concerts, touring, and special events, including touring video systems, cutting edge LED technology and projection mapping. The company has been honored 10 times at the Pollstar Awards for Best Concert Visuals. Artists that have worked with Moo TV include Garth Brooks, Jason Aldean, Kane Brown, Maren Morris, Chris Young, Dierks Bentley, Chris Stapleton, and Brad Paisley.

An obituary sent in to Pollstar for Kelly described her as “a loving mother, grandmother, best friend, and much-loved business manager. … For anyone who knew her, they knew how well she cared for others. Even in her final days she was worrying about others. Those mourning her passing include son David Rothel, daughter Kristi Kelly, son-in-law Jim Lockhart, granddaughter Ashley Rothel and grandson Jack Lockhart, as well as family, numerous close friends and clients.”

Kelly, who was born in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, and raised in Elyria, Ohio, initially worked in accounting as part of her family’s construction business and then got her start in the music business booking shows for a campground her family purchased in Nova, Ohio. She also started a small record label signing small local artists.

After attending the Country Radio Seminar in Nashville she made the move to Music City in 1994, where she worked for business managers and eventually started her own business management and bookkeeping firm, AKA Company in 1995. The next year she became the business manager for Moo TV and the company’s owner Scott Scovill. She later helped Moo Creative and The Steel Mill grow as well.

Kelly is described as “a lover of all arts,” including making trips to see her favorite artist Bruce Springsteen on tour, traveling overseas, and attending Broadway productions in New York, along with art exhibits and museums. She was also a founding board member for Actor’s Bridge Ensemble in Nashville, served as treasurer for the organization for over a decade and even made a few appearances in Actor’s Bridge productions. Plus, Kelly was an avid hiker, having logged more than 225 miles on the Appalachian Trail, over three trips.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Aug. 14 at The Event Space at 100 Taylor in Nashville.
