Amazon Music Announces Diverse Lineup For ‘City Sessions’ Livestreams

Amazon Music’s “City Sessions,” a livestreamed concert series from the streaming giant, has a stacked schedule for the remainder of the summer, announcing performances from a diverse group of artists, including Nigerian star Omah Lay, Grammy-winning R&B singer Muni Long and dance music duo SOFI TUKKER, and each show will exclusively broadcast on Prime Video and Amazon Music’s channel on Twitch.

“City Sessions” is truly going global by also featuring salsa legends Grupo Niche performing in Bogotá, Colombia, on Aug. 14 and Mexican grupero icons Bronco playing a hometown show in Monterrey, Mexico, on Sept. 11. Both performances will be shown exclusively on Amazon Music’s Twitch channel.

Lay takes the stage in New York City on Aug. 15 and will perform his new single, “Moving,” live for the first time. Since coming onto the scene with his 2020 Eps Get Layd and What Have We Done, Lay has been a rising star in the Afrobeats scene, collaborating with artists like Justin Bieber and Spinall and garnering more than 11.2 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

Long will be performing in Los Angeles on Aug. 22 and SOFI TUKKER will play live from New York City on Aug. 29. All three U.S. concerts can be seen on Prime Video and Twitch starting at 9 p.m. EDT.

Amazon Music has built “City Sessions” as its marquee livestreamed concert series, giving artists an opportunity to connect with their fans by playing new music and talking about their craft. Other artists who have participated in the series include Kings of Leon, The Black Crowes, Glass Animals, Wallows, Mau y Ricky and Andra Day. Prime Video customers can watch previous broadcasts, and Amazon Music stated in a release that additional performances “will be announced in the weeks to come.”
