Social Media Star Matt Mathews Embarking On ‘Boujee On A Budget’ Tour
On the heels of wrapping up his “When That Thang Get Ta Thang’n” comedy tour, Matt Mathews is ready to give it another go. The social media star is plotting a new tour this year titled “Boujee On A Budget,” a 52-city run across the U.S. that includes a night at the iconic Wiltern in Los Angeles.
The Live Nation-promoted tour kicks off Oct. 25 at Proctors in Schenectady, New York, and includes stops at Pittsburgh’s Carnegie of Homestead Music Hall, The Fox in Spokane, San Diego’s Balboa Theatre, Steelhouse Omaha in Nebraska, Atlanta’s Tabernacle, Chicago Theatre in Illinois, Florida’s Fillmore Miami Beach At Jackie Gleason Theatre, The Factory in St. Louis and Bayou Music Center in Houston. The tour wraps up at Paramount Theatre in Denver on May 3, 2025, and additional dates are to be announced, according to a release from Live Nation.
Presales for the shows run throughout the week leading up to the general onsale, which begins Aug. 16 at 10 a.m. local time.
The comedian from Alabama will bring his situational humor and life on the farm experiences to the stage as well as his “Confessions with Matt” video series where he responds to fans’ deepest secrets.
“Growing up a broke, gay kid from the south I always dreamed of being a performer, but let’s be real, those big dreams don’t typically come true,” Mathews said in a statement. “Thankfully, I decided to take the risk and bet on myself as a comedian. Never in my life did I imagine I would then sign an incredible deal with Live Nation for a second headlining tour. I couldn’t do this without the incredible support of the fans and I’m so excited, honored and humbled that so many people believe in me. I can’t wait to be back on that stage! ‘Boujee on Budget’ is going to be wildddd.”
Mathews, who is repped by Creative Artists Agency, Vault Entertainment and Rogers & Cowan/PMK, is a social media sensation who has garnered more than 4.8 million followers and TikTok and an additional 2 million on Instagram. His “When That Thang Get Ta Thang’n” tour sold out 100 dates and moved 150,000 tickets, according to Live Nation. His most successful showing was at Florida Theatre in Jacksonville on Dec. 29, 2023, which grossed $96,804 off 1,517 tickets, according to Pollstar Boxoffice reports.
