Queens Of The Stone Age Cancel Remaining 2024 Concerts
Desert rockers Queens Of The Stone Age have canceled their remaining dates for 2024 as frontman Josh Homme recovers from emergency surgery.
The band abruptly canceled their European dates in July as Homme flew back stateside for an operation. Now, they’ve announced, his convalescence will take some more time.
“Josh has been given no choice but to prioritize his health and to receive essential medical care through the remainder of the year,” the band said in a statement posted to social media.
QOTSA was due to appear at Boston’s MGM Music Hall Sept. 27 and 28; Soundside Music Festival in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Sept. 29; Andrew J. Brady Music Center in Cincinnati Oct. 1; Breese Stevens Field in Madison, Wisconsin, Oct. 1; Huntington Bank Pavilion in Chicago Oct. 2; Mempho Music Festival in Memphis Oct. 6; and Mexico City’s Corona Capital Music Festival Nov. 17. The band said the Boston, Cincinnati, Madison and Chicago headline shows will be rescheduled for 2025.
The nature of Homme’s surgery was not disclosed. In 2010, he underwent leg surgery that left him bed-ridden for more than three months. He was also diagnosed with cancer in 2022, though he said in 2023 surgery was successful at treating it.
