Lil Tecca To Headline Free Show In Detroit As Part Of Mass Registration For Clean Jobs
As a poster for Lil Tecca’s upcoming event proclaims: This Could Change Everything. The rapper/singer-songwriter, who some might call a Gen Z icon, is headlining a free event in the Detroit market in September that will mark the first-ever mass registration of youth for clean jobs in U.S. history.
The event is set for Sept. 17 at the Royal Oak Music Theatre in Royal Oak, Michigan, with doors at 6:30 p.m. and showtime at 7:30 p.m.
An announcement explains that the free TradesForce event on Sept. 17 will “connect young people with high-paying skilled trade careers in Michigan’s rapidly growing green building, EV and battery manufacturing, and clean energy sectors.”
The announcement goes on to say that there have been more than 12,000 new jobs in EV, battery, clean energy, and green building sectors announced in Michigan over the past year — bringing the state’s ranking to No. 3 for clean economy job growth. Because many folks in the state remain unaware of the opportunities in the industries, including jobs that offer six-figure salaries and career stability, the event “aims to close that gap by making young people in the community aware of the range of careers available to them in EV and battery manufacturing, clean energy production, green building construction, and beyond.”
Lil Tecca fans can get a free ticket to the event by signing up to learn more about local careers and training at tradesforce.org/events/detroit
Reports submitted to Pollstar Boxoffice for Lil Tecca include a Feb. 25 show at MGM Music Hall at Fenway in Boston that sold 2,915 tickets and grossed $115,249.
Lil Tecca is booked by CAA’s Ryan Thomson.
The rapper’s hit track “RAN$OM,” which he initially released independently and now serves as the second single from his debut mixtape, 2019’s We Love You Tecca, has received over 1 billion plays on Spotify and over 400 million views on YouTube.
His most recent album, Tec, was released through Galactic and Republic Records in September 2023. This marks his third full-length project.
