Following the success of the first U.S. leg of his tour, Puerto Rican star Jay Wheeler decided to take his show across seas, adding dates in Europe and Latin America to continue supporting his multiplatinum album, TRAPPii, and his most recent LP, Música Buena Para Días Malos.

The “TRAPPii Tour” is going global with shows in South America and Mexico in November and three concerts in Spain the following month, a significant milestone for Wheeler. He kicks off the Latin American leg of his tour in Lima, Peru, on Nov. 9, and the routing includes stops in Santiago, Chile; Guatemala City, Guatemala; San Salvador, El Salvador; and Mexico City on Nov. 24. He then embarks for Europe to perform in Gran Canaria on Dec. 14 and in Tenerife on the 15th before wrapping up in Madrid on the 16th.

“I’m thrilled to bring the ‘TRAPPii Tour’ to Europe and Latin America and share this experience with my international fans,” Wheeler said in a statement.

The singer-songwriter hailing from Salinas, Puerto Rico, has sold out five shows this summer, including a concert at Theater at Madison Square Garden on June 13 that grossed $455,537 off 4,765 tickets, according to Pollstar Boxoffice reports. He also had a successful showing at Orlando’s Kia Center on June 23 that earned Wheeler $677,360 off 6,880 tickets.

“TRAPPii Tour” will resume its run in the U.S., which is promoted by indie promoter Loud And Live, at Rosemont Theatre near Chicago on Oct. 17 followed by performances in Miami, Los Angeles and Austin, Texas. Fans can expect Wheeler to deliver chart-topping hits from “TRAPPii” and tunes from his latest album, and the artist promises each show will “be a spectacular celebration of music and artistry.”

Following his 2016 rendition of Justin Bieber’s “Love Yourself,” a recording that went viral and inspired the singer to pursue a career in music, Wheeler quickly ascended in the urban scene by staying true to himself and delivering sentimentality and emotion in a genre that usually glorifies life on the street. That willingness to express vulnerability in his lyrics helped the Puertorriqueño amass a dedicated following and more than 18 million monthly listeners on Spotify. Wheeler has released seven studio albums, and his massive hit “Curiosidad,” which features DJ Nelson and Myke Towers, surpassed 1 billion streams on Spotify. The Latin trap star, who was featured on the cover of Pollstar in February 2023, has collaborated with artists such as Feid, Mora, Reik, Lenny Tavarez and Farruko.

Wheeler is managed by Alvin Baez and Nelson Diaz of Linked Music and Luis Suarez of Dynamic Records. The artist is booked by AUL Touring & Talent Agency.
