Soccer Mommy, slowdive, Fiddlehead and many other bands are helping Run For Cover Records and The Bowery Presents celebrate both their 20th anniversaries as part of the lineup for the Something In The Way Fest, taking place Feb. 1-2 at the 3,500-capacity Roadrunner in Boston.

The two-day event will feature an incredible lineup of bands and artists from the Run For Cover Records roster and the extended indie rock world. The bill also includes Balance & Composure, Anxious, Mannequin Pussy, One Step Closer, Militarie Gun, and many more, showcasing the wide-reaching scope of RFC’s standing within independent music.

Registration for the Something In The Way presale is open now. Presales begin Sept. 25 at 10 a.m. local time and general onsale begins Sept. 27, also at 10 a.m. at the festival website.

Among the artists performing at Something In The Way is Soccer Mommy, who graced the cover of Pollstar in 2020, and by then had opened for such notables including Liz Phair, Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks, Paramore and Kacey Musgraves in addition to her own touring.

The first iteration of the fest was in 2016 and included the likes of Alex G, Modern Baseball, and Turnover, and now the 2025 edition is shaping up to be even bigger. The fest will include two stages at Roadrunner, with performances from more than 20 bands, with more to be announced.

This year marks the 20 year anniversaries of both Run For Cover Records and The Bowery Presents, and the announcement of Something In The Way celebrates the impact of these two pillars of the modern music landscape.
