Red Light Management’s Gonzo Lubel Dies
Red Light Management announced in a post on Instagram that artist manager Gonzo Lubel died on Oct. 8. Tributes from artists and fellow executives are being shared in honor of Lubel, who is described by Red Light as “a kind individual” and “a friend to all whom he encountered.”
A cause of death wasn’t disclosed, other than saying he “tragically passed away.”
Lubel had worked at Red Light since November 2021 and was based in the Los Angeles area. Before that he worked for more than six years as an artist manager at Cosmica Artists. He got his start in the entertainment industry as a technical producer at iHeartMedia beginning in September 2009. His resume also includes working as a producer at The Walt Disney Company and an assistant to the director of operations at Borderline Amazing Productions.
Red Light Management shared the following statement on Instagram Oct. 9: “It’s with deep sorrow that we share the heartbreaking news that our colleague, Gonzo Lubel, tragically passed away yesterday.
“The entire Red Light family is devastated by this loss and our hearts go out to Gonzo’s family, friends and all those who knew and worked with him.
“Gonzo truly had the biggest of hearts and was a beloved member of our team. A kind individual, he was a friend to all whom he encountered. His positive impact on all of us will be remembered forever.”
Lubel’s clients at Red Light include Inner Wave.
One of his former clients, The Marías, added a comment on Red Light’s post simply saying “Gonzi,” along with a heart emoji.

A rescue organization called All Dogs Los Angeles shared a photo of Lubel and a dog he had fostered named Virgil on its Instagram stories with a message saying, “May you rest in power Gonzo. Thank you for spoiling Virgil as if he were your own. You will forever be in our hearts!”
The organization added in a comment on Red Light’s post: “He took care of Virgil for us, and they will always be best friends, no matter the distance. ☁️✨ He gave Virgil an amazing experience, transforming him into a happier pup. We are incredibly grateful for that. We love you, Gonzo.”
