Twenty-three years removed from purchasing a music club in a strip mall called Jammin Java, the Brindley Brothers are ready for a change. The Washington, D.C.-area promoters announced they are rebranding their events business as Union Stage Presents, and the trio also bolstered their venue portfolio with the addition of Pearl Street Warehouse and The Howard Theatre.

Daniel, Luke and Jonathan Brindley now operate six venues under their Union Stage Presents umbrella: Union Stage, Jammin Java, Miracle Theatre, The Theatre at Capital Turnaround, Pearl Street Warehouse and The Howard Theatre.

With no experience in the venue business, the Brindleys bought Jammin Java, a 200-capacity club located in Vienna, Virginia strip mall 23 years ago and made it into a hotbed for rising talent. Rock acts like Paramore and The Lumineers played at the club before reaching stardom.

The brothers recently helped build the historic Howard Theatre into one of the country’s top clubs in ticket sales.

“It is a classic overnight success story — 23 years in the making,” the Brindley Brothers said in a statement. “It is crazy that over two decades after taking over Jammin Java we are still on this journey, but now with six venues, over 200 employees and a projected 1,200 concerts and events in the coming year. The best part is that we’re on this mission with a world-class team we love and who are truly the next generation of tastemakers for live music in DC.”

With the rebrand, the company has a new website, unionstagepresents.com, and social channels (@unionstage) serving as a “one-stop-shop” for DMV area music fans.

The acquisition of Pearl Street Warehouse now gives the brothers their first physical box office offering fee-free tickets. To celebrate the new company name and acquisition of the venue, every person who buys tickets at the Pearl Street box office for the first six weeks will be entered to be one of six winners of “The Pass,” which allows the winners (and a guest) to attend any show across the six venues through 2025. The six winners will receive their tickets next month.

There will also be a week-long happy hour (from Oct. 15-22) that features $6 Venue House Beer or a canned mocktail.
