Bandsintown Expands Ticket Presale Features
Concert discovery platform Bandsintown is introducing an expanded presale feature that allows any artist to launch ticket presales for tours and events, regardless of the ticketing company used by the venue, including a white glove presale for major artists and tours.
Artists can publish tour dates on their website and socials using free Bandsintown for Artists tools, making it easy for fans to sign up with their email and phone number to be automatically notified when they can buy presale tickets in their city. Artists retain ownership of all fan contacts collected during presales.
The Presales feature expands on previous functionality allowing artists to create Releases for events, music, and merch. Hundreds of artists, including Chappell Roan, Childish Gambino, Vince Staples, Tinashe, and Kehlani, have already found success with presales using Bandsintown.
“Presales have become the new onsales, and our new Presales feature gives artists of all sizes everything they need to control their own presales,” stated Bandsintown co-founder and managing partner Fabrice Sergent. “Presales are an important moment when artists reward their superfans, grow their email and SMS lists, own their data, and can continue to engage fans on their own terms.”
All events are also recommended to relevant fans from Bandsintown’s more than 90 million global users and distributed to more fans through seamless integrations with Spotify, Google, and Apple services.
The self-serve feature includes unlimited free presale signups and email alerts. Bandsintown is offering free text alerts for all artists through the end of the year and will introduce competitively priced SMS alerts beginning Jan. 1.
